No, not really! I never even considered being a professional dancer when I first started. I took technique and ballet and lyrical I think. And I got my pointe shoes when I was 13 I think.

It just depends on the teachers preference! Some ballet teachers require dancers to use them before they get their pointe shoes, and some don’t. I’ve never used them and from what I’ve heard from others, they seen too popular. But ask your teacher!

Ask your teacher! To get your pointe shoes you will have to go and get fitted for a certain pair that best fits your feet. Your teacher may have just simply forgotten, so it would be good just to remind her.
