it’s been almost a year and i still think about this group almost everyday
I’ve been getting a lot of messages asking about needing to lose weight for dance, or being skinny enough to be a dancer.
You do not need to be perfectly skinny to be a good dancer.
I’ve only been dancing for 4 years, but out of those 4 years, I have honestly met AMAZING dancers who do not have a dancers body, and I’m not just making that up to make you feel better. Some of the best dancers I know, and the dancers that inspire me the most don't have perfect, slim, hyper extended legs, or a beautifully flat stomach. Body type does not make up a dancer. Passion and dedication make a good dancer. I know it can be really hard, seeing pictures of beautifully skinny dancers, even I feel like I need to have skinnier legs sometimes. But PLEASE don't think that you need to lose weight for dance! There is not a certain weight that all dancers should have, or a certain look that all dancers should have.
You are all beautiful and perfect, and never stop dancing.
