“The Garden” is a short fantasy film about a teenage ballerina Luc, battling a regime of mean robots in the not-so-distant future. Through her passion for dance she is able to preserve her humanity in the hopelessness of the post-apocalyptic world.

We hope that the movie will remind people that our individual uniqueness is worth fighting for and that the easy way out is never the way.

so I'm getting dance pictures taken in like 2 weeks and I'm not really sure what to be photographed doing? I'm really good at contortion but I feel like that may be a bit awkward in a photo lol help?

Look at some dance photographers like David Hofmann (sharkcookie), Luis Pons, Ballet Zaida, the Ballerina Project, Chris Reilly, etc. Their dance pictures are amazing and you can definitely get some inspiration and ideas and poses from their photographs. I dont think contortion would look weird!

You should look at some dance photographers like David Hofmann (sharkcookie) and Chris Reilly! Also Ballet Zaida, Luis Pons, and the Ballerina Project have some awesome shots that will give you inspiration.

Ballet San Jose NEEDS your help!

Our board has announced an emergency funding campaign in an effort to raise $550,000 by March 14th. Without this money Ballet San Jose will be forced to close its doorsleaving 33 company dancers unemployed and 300 students without a place to train. This would be a HUGE loss of art and culture for Silicon Valley and devastating to our extremely talented and diverse company.

Thanks to our CEO Alan Highline, our board of directors, and our beloved Artistic Director José Manuel Carreño Ballet San Jose is NOT going down without a fight.

We have 9 days to #SaveBalletSJ and we desperately need to get the word out about our situation. People need to know what is at stake here. So please, please help get the word out.
